Since its popularity grew after Rikidozan's debut in the late 40s, there are a number of wrestlers that have transcended the ranking of superstar into legendary status. This section has wrestlers that already have profiles linked from other pages, but with over 600 profiles on Puroresu Central I wanted it to be easier to find the true legends that have made puroresu what it is today. This is purely subjective, but I consider a wrestler a legend if they made a lasting impact on puroresu in the ring, out of it, or both. Most are retired, but some active wrestlers are already legends based on their achievements in the sport. Not all of these wrestlers are on the same level, but all are legends in their own right.
