One of the longest running successful tag teams in New Japan history, Chono and Tenzan wrestled off and on together for over 10 years and won five IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships during that time period as well as the Super Grade Tag League in 1995. Tenzan and Chono were also both members of the nWo (with Chono the leader) as they were the leading heel tag team in the promotion in the mid-90s. After wrestling primarily with different tag teams from 1998 to 2001, in 2002 they began teaming regularly again and won the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship for the fourth time. In 2005 they won the title again, but in 2006 they would split up and begin feuding with each other in different factions.
