Naomichi Marufuji and KENTA
Promotion History: NOAH (2003 to 2005) Biggest Matches: Career Highlights: Formed in 2003, KENTA and Marufuji quickly left a lasting impression on Pro Wrestling NOAH. On July 15th, 2003 a tournament was held to crown the first GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, with KENTA and Marufuji coming out on top. Together they would revolutionalize Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team wrestling, showing that a division that is normally an after-thought can be one of the hottest in a promotion. Their reign lasted almost two years, when they were defeated by Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Takashi Sugiura. After their reign ended, KENTA continued in the Jr. Heavyweight division while Marufuji teamed with Minoru Suzuki to win the GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. They would team one last time on July 16th, 2006 in a match against WILD II, but the match would end in a draw. |
