One of the most exciting tag teams in New Japan during the early 90s, Hase and Mutoh teamed off and on for four years and in the process won the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship on two different occasions. The first came on November 5th, 1991 against Norton and Rick Steiner, and the last time was on November 25th, 1994. Between their two title wins, Mutoh and Hase won the Super Grade Tag League twice and had a number of successful defenses as they became one of the most popular teams in Japan. In 1995, Mutoh would split the team up as he wanted to pursue his singles career, but the pair would team at times over the next 10 years and Hase would work with Mutoh when Mutoh was the President of All Japan many years later.
