Other Notes:  In 1999, Fukuda joined New Japan as a junior heavyweight and seemed destined to move up the card. Unfortunately, in a match against Katsuyori Shibata in the 2000 Young Loin Cup, Fukuda would get caught in the head with a flying elbow smash which would cause serious damage to his brain. He hung on in the hospital for four days, but sadly he passed away. A young star that had not reached his potential, Fukuda will not be forgotten by the New Japan faithful.
