2005 Recap:
For most of 2005, Momota opened the NOAH shows with comedy matches.
Frequently, he was wrestling fellow old-man wrestler Eigen either one
on one or in tag team matches with young wrestlers. Since he mostly
did comedy, he did not get any title shots during the year. Due to his
long career, however, he is well respected and the NOAH crowd enjoys
his antics.
2006 Recap:
Momota was having his typical year, but on May 19th he attacked KENTA
after the show and declared that he would be in the Jr. Heavyweight
Battle Royal on June 3rd. He did not win the Jr. Heavyweight Battle
Royal, however, and afterwards he began feuding with SUWA. SUWA won
in their singles match on July 16th via a lariat, and since then Momota
has returned to wrestling mostly younger wrestlers in opening matches.
2007 Recap:
After his friend Eigen retired, Momota stayed towards the beginning
of the card wrestling in tag matches against the latest class of graduates.
Momota did not have any title challenges in 2007 and generally was not
involved in any storylines as he enjoys the twilight of his career.
